Course Description

The Embodied Table retreat offers a week of intentional movement and mindful nourishment.

Each morning, explore breathwork, core stability, strength intervals, and restorative water sessions designed to build resilience while honoring recovery. These classes focus on nervous system regulation, quality of movement, and deep body awareness — helping you feel grounded, capable, and energized.

Afternoons are devoted to culinary immersion. From garden visits and olive oil tastings to local cheesemakers and butchers, you’ll experience food at its source while learning the stories and techniques behind each dish. Through tasting, journaling, and shared meals, you’ll cultivate a deeper connection to how nourishment feels in your body.

A week of breath, strength, and savoring — designed to leave you restored and inspired.

Movement Activities

These movement sessions are designed to help participants feel strong, regulated, and deeply connected to their bodies throughout the week. Each class blends breathwork, core stability, mobility, and interval-based strength in a way that builds resilience and leaves you feeling grounded and energized.

We’ll focus on generating intentional effort followed by practicing intentional recovery. Participants will learn how to use their breath to support stability, improve endurance, and downshift from stress. The progression across the week moves from foundational breath and deep core activation into more dynamic land-based interval sessions and supportive water workouts that challenge the body while remaining joint-friendly and restorative.

Rather than chasing intensity for its own sake, these sessions emphasize quality of movement, nervous system awareness, and connection with your body. The goal of each session is to leave feeling more embodied, more capable, and more attuned to internal cues.

This approach complements the retreat’s culinary mindfulness by reinforcing the same principles: presence, awareness, and a deeper connection to how the body feels during and after nourishment.

Day 1

Intro to Breathwork & Deep Core

  • A grounding session designed to reconnect you to your breath and your deep core muscles. We’ll explore diaphragmatic breathing, gentle core activation, and nervous system regulation techniques that create stability from the inside out. This class sets the foundation for the week by helping you feel centred, supported, and deeply embodied.

  • Class would mirror Yin Yoga and breathwork

Day 2

Mindful Movement Interval Workout

  • Heavily influenced by yoga and Pilates, this workout blends strength, mobility, and mindfulness. Physical activity intervals are paired with intentional breathwork recovery, teaching the body how to build resilience while also learning how to downshift. You’ll move with purpose, then practice recovering with awareness.

  • Class would mirror Vinyasa Yoga and Pilates

Day 3

Water Workout

  • A refreshing, low-impact session in the water designed to build strength and cardiovascular endurance while supporting joint health. Using the natural resistance of water, we’ll move through intentional intervals that challenge the body without excess strain. Expect to leave feeling energized, buoyant, and restored.

  • Class would mirror water aerobics and water Pilates

Day 4 - Rest day

Day 5

Mindful Movement Interval Workout 2

  • An evolution of our earlier interval session. We’ll build on the breath-to-movement connection established earlier in the week, layering in slightly more complexity and challenge while maintaining strong mindfulness principles. Strength, stability, and recovery remain the focus.

  • Class would mirror Vinyasa Yoga and Pilates

Day 6

Water Workout 2

  • A progressive water session that builds on earlier aquatic work. Expect creative movement patterns, core integration, and playful conditioning, all while using the water as both resistance and recovery tool. This class emphasizes fluidity, adaptability, and ease in effort.

  • Class would mirror water aerobics and water Pilates

Food Activities

What better place to explore the profound beauty of ingredients than in the heart of the Italian countryside? The culinary portion of this workshop will focus on getting participants better acquainted with the source of their food, capitalizing on the region's unique experts within their craft.

Each day the participants will have an opportunity to taste ingredients that are seasonal, local, and freshly harvested. These ingredients will show up throughout each meal that is enjoyed throughout the week, and participants will be encouraged to journal about their dining moments as well as their interaction with the ingredients.

Throughout each day there will also be the opportunity to gain culinary insight as each dish will be explained, there will also be an opportunity to learn more about how each meal can be prepared. The goal is for each participant to feel fully present as they explore their meals from “garden to table”.

Garden

Intro to journals - participants will receive a journal where they can document what they see, as well as other senses that they are using as they explore these ingredients (taste, touch, smell, etc).

These will also be encouraged for documenting movement sessions as well.

The garden will be the first stop for exploring what is currently in season, the way that food grows, and ingredients that participants may be seeing throughout their meals.

Olive Grove & olive oil tasting

Participants will have the opportunity to taste various olive oils and learn to distinguish various flavour profiles based on the harvest times, as well as learn more about the nutritional benefits and harvest process

Cheese Monger with wine tasting

Participants will venture to the local cheese monger to see how cheese is made in this region, and all the work and expertise that goes into it.

Add wine pairing from the region to better demonstrate the art of pairing food and wine.

Butchershop

The group will have the opportunity to learn about the art of butchery.

Eat at Solociccia and see how food can be transformed from less popular cuts into something divine.

Big celebration dinner

Participants will have the opportunity to fully participate in cooking a meal together and put together everything they have learned throughout the course. This will give participants the opportunity to learn a recipe that they can then bring a piece of Italy back home into their own kitchens.

Together, participants will reflect on their week at Rignana Estate and what they will take with them.
