Course Description

This four-night retreat brings together classical landscape painting, yoga, and nutrition as three equally important practices, set within the rolling beauty of the Tuscan countryside. Designed to support both creative expression and long-term wellbeing, the retreat offers an integrated rhythm of artistic practice, embodied movement, and evidence-informed nourishment, inspired by Mediterranean lifestyle principles.

The landscape painting programme invites participants to work directly from life, developing observational skills while immersed in inspiring natural surroundings. Through focused, hands-on practice using oil paints, students are introduced to the fundamentals of capturing the landscape, learning how to translate light, space, and atmosphere onto the canvas.

Teaching is grounded in classical landscape painting techniques, with an emphasis on depth, perspective, and mood. Participants explore composition, tonal values, and colour relationships to establish light and atmospheric perspective, developing both technical skill and visual sensitivity through attentive observation in nature.

Running alongside the painting practice is a structured programme of yoga, breath therapy, mindfulness, and longevity-focused nutrition education led by Mimi. Daily yoga and breath-based sessions support mobility, metabolic health, nervous system regulation, and creative focus.

The nutrition programme draws on Mediterranean-style eating patterns and current longevity research, exploring how whole foods, healthy fats, plant diversity, meal timing, and daily movement contribute to metabolic resilience, gut health, hormonal balance, and healthy ageing. Through educational talks and interactive workshops, participants gain practical, science-backed strategies to support energy, reduce inflammation, and promote long-term vitality. Optional one-to-one nutrition consultations with Mimi offer personalised guidance tailored to individual health goals.

Instruction across all elements includes demonstrations, guided practice, and individual support. The retreat is taught in English and is open to all levels, offering a balanced and immersive experience that integrates creativity, movement, nourishment, and the rhythms of the Tuscan landscape.
